Classroom management, taught on your campus

Your staff spends one day learning a complete management system, then uses it starting with the next class period.

Why this training

What a management system changes

01

70 to 90%

of low-level, chronic behaviors can be reduced or eliminated with these strategies.

02

More teaching

Less time on discipline means lessons actually get delivered. Academics and discipline rise or fall together.

03

Teachers who stay

Classroom management is the top reason educators leave. Teachers who feel effective are more likely to stay.

Research

"Teachers' actions in their classrooms have twice the impact on student achievement as school policies regarding curriculum, assessment, staff collegiality, and community involvement."

Marzano, R. J. (2003). What Works in Schools. ASCD.
The five components

How the system fits together

The five components below are taught in order, modeled by your trainer, and practiced by every teacher.

Component One

Self-control strategies

Prevention is the strongest tool a teacher has. Teachers learn to stay calm, read the room, and spot trouble early, which heads off up to 90% of low-level problems before they interrupt instruction. The day starts here because the rest depends on it.

Component Two

Teaching rules and procedures

Clear procedures, taught on purpose, reduce office referrals. Teachers learn to plan and practice routines the same way they plan academic lessons.

Component Three

Responding to challenges

Teachers learn five immediate steps for an out-of-control student and how to carry out discipline firmly but fairly. Multiple warnings and repeated requests go away.

Component Four

Classroom ecology and arrangement

Can moving desks reduce discipline problems? Often, yes. Teachers see fifteen arrangements and learn to position themselves so the room works for them.

Component Five

Student-teacher relationships

Room design matters, and relationships matter more. Teachers practice making each student feel individually seen, including the most challenging ones.

Agenda

Sample schedule

Most schools book a full day. A half-day works too, on your campus and on your calendar.

From 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, teachers work on a calm, alert mindset, the design and arrangement of the classroom, the teaching power position, fifteen desk arrangements, and how to teach and enforce rules and procedures.

Lunch is 12:00 to 1:00 PM. The afternoon, 1:00 to 3:30 PM, covers firm but fair discipline, student-teacher relationships, connecting with non-compliant students, five immediate steps to regain control, and ending multiple warnings and repeated requests.
